A Shadow Crown by Melissa Blair
Because there's a lot less action in this book, there are fewer interesting character moments. I enjoyed the story, but missed the hard choices and big fights. Fantasy books all conform to cliches but some, like this one, have a very long checklist.
P.S. I couldn't help laughing at sentences such as "I stepped forward with my foot."
