The Song of the Marked by S. M. Gaither

Another classic example of popular [feminist] fantasy: action heroine, mysterious magic, forgotten past, mental health / vulnerability, supportive yet shadowy love interest (with amazing muscles and dark flowy hair) etc.

Since the story includes so many stereotypes, I think the book might have benefited from more world-building at the beginning. The Gods / magic system is what makes this unique - and I look forward to exploring it.

P.S. The similarities between this and A Broken Blade are mildly astonishing.
