The Golden Spider by Anne Renwick
(Have to say - not a fan of the cover) A fairly mindless read. Interesting technological ideas, fun mystery and heavy on the romance. You'll have to ignore several problematic views, though - most people will be uncomfortable with the term 'gypsy' as it's derogatory, for instance.
