JE Apr'24 "Matter-of-fact" [22]

 Orson by David Delaney

The tone of this book was a breath of fresh air, and Orson's reactions to the classic 'demon inside' were priceless. There was barely any plot and no character development, but the humour and talented audiobook narration made it a fun read.

I find it interesting to compare the last few fantasy books I've read - those written by men have been wry, witty and down-to-earth. The books written by women have been more melodramatic and feelings-oriented. I suppose it's good to have a mix of both so the story isn't dry, but also isn't "I would die for Riley!" overkill either.
