Fortune Favours the Cruel by Kel Carpenter and Lucinda Dark
The main characters are fairly typical - special magic powers and immediately attracted to each other. It'll be interesting to see where they end up, but the first book was basically them meeting up, hiking north and doing a bit of training together. Not much plot.
